E' quasi mezzanotte, ho appena riposto pennelli e vernici dopo circa un paio d'ore di pittura, dato che come al solito, l'occhio sinistro mi si appanna e non riesco più a dipingere.
Che si fà? Si scrive qualche stupidaggine a caso sul blog...
Ad esempio, voi che ne pensate? Meglio una miniatura in resina o in metallo? Magari plastica....
It's almost midnight, I have just abandoned paints and brushes after 2 hours if painting, my left eye is fogging and I can't paint more.
What can I do? I can put some stupid and useless thoughts on this blog...
What do you think? White metal or resin for your miniatures? Plastic?
In questo momento sto litigando con una grande miniatura in metallo, il Colossus 72mm della Knight Models e sto odiando questo materiale con tutto me stesso. E' pesante, difficile da impugnare per dipingerla e la vernice si scheggia fin troppo facilmente. La miniatura pesa 125gr.
Non mi danno grossi problemi le 28mm in metallo, viste le ridotte dimensioni, ma a questa scala, 72mm non è possibile continuare a farle in questo materiale.
Fortunatamente l'altra miniatura della Knight Models nella stessa scala che ho, l'Hulk, è in resina. Molto più leggero da gestire, nonostante sia più grande dell'altro.
Dio salvi la resina!! Che onestamente è anche meglio della plastica, perchè leggermente porosa e quindi fornisce una miglior presa per il colore!!

In these days I'm wrestling with a big metal miniature, a Knight Models Colossus 72mm and I'm hating this thing with all my heart. It's heavy, difficult to handle and paint chips and jump away easily. This miniature weight is 125gr.
I haven't so much problems with metal miniatures in 28mm scale, because of little dimensions, but it's not possible to make miniatures at this big scale!!
Luckily, my other Knight Models miniature, same scale, it's Hulk and it's in resin.
It's very light to handle even though it's bigger.
God save resin! I prefer it also versus plastic, because resin surface is slightly rough and holds paint very well!!
